Baby Joggers, How Versatile Are They?

Attention: All Serious Joggers, Walkers and Shoppers...

Jogger strollers are actually more versatile than what many people think.  The manufacturers have thought of everything when designing to suit today's totally modern mother!

Baby jogging strollers are strong, robust, have a great look, they have a very trendy 'now' design and the functionality of them is second to none.

Are You a Jogger, Walker, Shopper or a Mixture?

The functionality of baby jogging strollers is quite diverse in themselves.  For example, you can choose a jogger with larger wheels if you do actually want to go jogging with your baby in toe or a one with maneuverable swivel wheels that will get you around the shopping centre.

Let's take a look.

Design and Durability

The design, durability and weight are the most key components of the jogger models.

Wheels:  You can get different wheel sizes on joggers depending on what function you want to use it for.

Serious Joggers should be looking at least 16" wheels on the back if jogging on smooth surfaces and 20" wheels if jogging on uneven outdoor surfaces.  The larger the wheel the less 'resistance' you will get, giving your baby a much smoother and comfortable ride.

The front wheel should be fixed.

Serious Walkers don't need to have the rear wheels that wide, 12" wheels should suffice if walking along country pathways or pavements.

The front wheel should be fixed.

Serious Shoppers who might like the design of the baby jogging stroller will not need such large rear wheel and will not want a fixed front wheel.  Fixed front wheels are hopeless going round corners and maneuvering around in busy shops.

However, the good news is that some makes do come with a 'hybrid' front wheel which left alone, swivels for those shopping trips and then locks for jogging and long walks.  So this is definately something you should look out for when looking at jogger strollers.

Weight is another issue when looking at the functionality of these strollers.  If you are jogging, you definately don't want a heavy pushchair and if you will he folding and putting the buggy your car boot, then weight will be an issue too.

Lightweight strollers are made out of aluminium.

Heavier strollers are made out of tubed steel with connection hubs.

Aluminium is more expensive, so it's up to you to weigh out the options of cost versus function.

Other Important Functions

For our serious joggers, you will need to look at the seating for your baby when jogging on warm sunny days, the baby seat should be made of lightweight breathable fabric.

The brakes are something else to take into consideration.  Joggers should be make sure there is a brake constructed on the handle of the stroller and a parking brake on the wheel area.  Other models will just have parking breaks, others will have both.

Sun canopy is another essential factor when outdoors with your baby.  You can buy these as a stroller accessory, however it's best to have one that fits and comes with the stroller itself.

The baby jogger stroller range is renowned for its design, durability and quality. They simply are one of the best and most popular strollers on the market today.
